Tapping into a lengthy history as a producer and former career as electronic musician in the 90s (under the name of SiN and SiNthetic), Pilot Darcy applies some old school deep house tricks to the slow burner.

She says “I was so inspired by the original track I immediately wanted to grab the hooks and milk them for all they were worth. Andrew (Spectoral) sings with such a sexy voice so I wanted to make sure the remix still captured the passion and mood of his original song”.

Klaus Hill gave it his magic touch when mastering. Local Sydney DJ’s have likened the track to Blond:ish vs Deep Dish and local stations, including, Bondi Radio DJ’s are giving it a spin.

spectoral_pilot_darcy_remixSpectoral (right) is stoked with the track as it comes off the back of a very busy 2017 releasing a number of singles and performing around his Melbourne hometown. Signed to Las Vegas micro label FVYDID, this is one track you’ll hear late at night when clubbing this summer.

No name droppin

Some of you already know that I’m privileged to live in Sydney’s iconic Bondi. This means Bondi Beach is our summer playground (and winter etc.). But the Bondi Lipsters, who I hang with, certainly come alive when the sun is high.

The Bondi Lipsters decided to shoot a clip of a day in our lives surfing and swimming around Bondi. I’m stoked to add this new tune which was recently aired on Bondi Radio as the soundtrack.

It’s more a future house/trap kinda tune but you’ll hear the signature feel good vibe that I like to give off. If you like the clip, feel free to head over to my Soundcloud for a free download.

Much love and sun from Bondi,

Pilot Darcy xx

Walking hearts featured on Audioglider Mixtape

This post is not for the “gush-phobic”. Cos right now I’m buzzing with the news that Walking Hearts has made it to Audioglider’s latest mixtape! I can honestly state that lovers of all older 4AD artists, especially this Mortal Coil albums, will feel like you have come home when listening to Audioglider. If you don’t know the UK producer, but love beautiful atmospheric music, allow me to continue.

I accidentally found the Audioglider out in the melodisphere. Some might say it was fate that put the Pilot and the Glider together. Since discovering his tunes I became an avid fan. The guys has been producing tracks, way more professionally, for a little longer than me and knows his trade. What’s more he is super nice, genuine and down to earth.

Audioglider’s musical taste is varied indeed, but he has a talent for putting together the best flow ambient and chill mixtapes, the kinda stuff you want to listen to after dinner, before bed, or even in the dentist’s chair. Seriosuly! I can vouch for this, after three hours surgery his mixes were the only thing that got me through.

Anyway… go listen for yourself to his latest mixtape on Soundcloud and keep your ears on track 4. And the good news, you can download this treasure for free!

Walking Hearts single cover for Pilot Darcy downtempo track

Walking Hearts

Making electronic music is an interesting process. It’s like hitting the kitchen to fix yourself a delicious meal.

You select your ingredients, only using those that are fresh and discard the sounds that have been sitting idly for too long. You chop and dice an element that perhaps would flavour your song to strongly. Yet you want to keep a bass flavour nice and smooth to ground the palette.

We cook with emotion, we create songs with feeling. An essence is savoured and in Walking Hearts I wanted to capture an optimistic journey. I achieved this yet in the end, I could not help but think about those that journey, right now as I type, as you read, in search of a new home. A new land. Stability. Safety.

I have my studio, you have my new song, we have our kitchens. Some are in possession of none. They are…. walking hearts.

Enjoy this new downtempo instrumental song, please share and download as you wish xx

The Pursuit

Faye Blais

Faye Blais

Faye Blais carries the light of the sun’s rays everywhere she tours. Her generous Canadian soul harbours the love of the many people she meets on the road. Her poetic lyrics tell stories of humanity, emotion, challenge and strength. It was inevitable that I would remix one of her gorgeous songs and The Pursuit certainly grabbed my attention.

When I first heard The Pursuit I was enchanted by the imagery of the song as much as the vocals and backing vocals. Although only the main vocals made it to the remix, it wasn’t cos the other tracks were less than damn fine. I was compelled to paint an atmospheric picture that would move others, in a way that I felt when hearing this song. I wanted to transport it to lounge land, club floors, true. But I wanted to make sure the passion of the story was re-interpreted and not lost.

I am very proud to share this one and need to acknowledge not only Faye Blais (singer/songwriter) but my dear friend Blog Wars for exceptional and unique beats and Kor-B (City of Nine Gates) for production on the track.

Now, I’m happy to thank you (in advance) for your support in playing, sharing, downloading and commenting on the remix. It’s free and won’t cost you a cent!

Alpine

Alpine “Hands” Pilot Darcy Remix

Aussie indie-pop outfit Alpine released an awesome album last year. They managed to create a totally identifiable sound full of tight guitar riffs, strong soprano harmonies and completely addictive melodies.

While sitting on the bus and listening to one of my fave tracks”Hands” it occurred to me that there was lots of space and room to chop up this track and give it an after-life. So hope you enjoy this bootleg remix that’s a little dub, got lots of melody and has the usual Pilot Darcy cruising the clouds kinda feel.

Australian born, raised by wolves, based in Berlin.

Tammy-IngramThis is Tammy Ingram, a song writer who’s lyrics are infused with intelligence, quick wit, keen observation and moody metaphors delivered in indie-folk stylings.

“Jealousy” the premier acoustic song from Ingram’s stunning recent release “LOVE WAR” gets an 80’s funk electro work over by Sydney’s Pilot Darcy.

As promised, over the next number of weeks, you can download free remixes or songs by Sydney’s musical aviator Pilot Darcy. This one is wrapped up in a warm dry blanket for your lovely ears while you hide indoors from grey sky tears:
